The Farmhouse is located near San Casciano Val di Pesa, among the hills of Chianti, in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the countryside around Florence, between vineyards and olive groves.
The farm holidays stands at the top of a hill, where you have a full view of the landscape. North you can see the valley where Florence stands, in particular is visible the dome of the Duomo; from East to West you can see a succession of hills covered in woods, vineyards and olive trees: you can see the landscape of the well known Tuscany postcards, the full view of the Chianti district, known all over the world for his wine and his symbol of the black cock.
The farm is located near the old village of Sant'Andrea in Percussina that was the home of Niccolò Machiavelli and has an excellent location, being situated along the highway Firenze-Siena and only few miles from the highway Firenze-Pisa-Livorno. The center of Florence is easily reachable in 20 minutes by car; Florence can be reached using the local public transport: 4 km far from the farm, with the possibility of free parking, there is the bus line, which will take you into the center of Florence. Siena and San Gimignano can be reached in less than an hour and all the cultural cities of Tuscany like Volterra, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo are easily reachable.
3 km far from Podere dell'Orto there is the town of San Casciano Val di Pesa, seat of the Municipality where you can find a supermarket, the bank, the post office, as well as shops of typical products and restaurants serving Tuscan dishes. Nearby there are also horse stables, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a golf course, as well as the possibility of renting bikes.
